Made haircuts for autistic son possible!! My son is very sensitive to the noise of electric clippers, he hates hair on his neck but also hates to wear a cape!! Haircuts always caused tantrums. My son’s therapist recommended this clipper, and it worked wonders! He is not annoyed by the clipper sound- it’s as quiet as can be, and the vacuum is not loud at all! Sometimes I check if it is even on (it’s that quiet). The vacuum feature gets about 90% of the hair so he doesn’t get bothered by it on his neck, we still have to blow some of the hair off his neck (with our mouths, he is sensitive to the blow dryer), but it is a minimal tolerable amount (small hairs). This clipper took us from tantrum-filled 45 min long haircuts to 10 min happy haircuts with minimal discomfort and no crying! I wish I had found this soonerNote: the cut quality is also good! My husband used it on his beard and said it cuts as well as his Phillips clippers.
Just not a fan of it
Great little tool. Easier to snag some hair with one hand movement. Trying to cut my 2yr olds hair has been a nightmare. Still a bit of a time but has been getting better.
I used this to cut out one year old’s hair. We took him to a hair salon for the first cut and it turned out ok, but he wouldn’t sit still and was afraid of the loud clippers. I did think that these clippers with the vacuum was quieter than I expected and really easy to use. I turned it on and let him hold it and carry it around for a minute before I started trimming. The vacuum did catch a lot of the hair but by no means all of it. He and I were both covered by the time I was done and needed to change shirts. It helped from keeping a mess off the floor though. I was able to trim his hair while he played in the living room floor. I’m satisfied that it kept chunks of hair from falling on his face or in the floor. I dumped it about 4 times for the whole cut, but his hair had gotten really long. I used the longest trimmer, kinda wish there were longer trimming attachments. I’m happy that my skiddish baby let me cut his hair though. His hair grows fast so this trimmer is currently a big win for us. Before and after pics included.
